Hero Muslim Teacher Stabbed Whilst Protecting Students – ilmfeed

A teacher who was stabbed in the neck while protecting pupils during a shocking knife attack at a Manchester secondary school has been hailed as a hero.

Maysum Abdullah was injured after courageously stepping in when a 14-year-old girl allegedly began attacking fellow students with a knife.

Rather than thinking of his own safety, Maysum rushed towards the danger in an effort to protect the children in his care.

His wife, Saima, paid tribute to her husband’s selfless actions, saying:

“My husband entered teaching to make a positive difference in young people’s lives and he is truly a hero for protecting and safeguarding those children.

“Our prayers are with the other two pupils who also suffered injuries and to all the students and staff who witnessed such a traumatic event.”

Despite suffering a serious injury to his neck, Maysum has since been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home.

The incident has shocked the local community and serves as a powerful reminder of the dedication shown every day by teachers, who often place the wellbeing of their students above their own.

The 14-year-old girl has since been charged with three counts of attempted murder and is due to appear before the courts.
