Houthis strike Yemeni government’s presidential palace in Aden: What to know
The Houthis struck the Yemeni government’s palace in Aden with missiles and drones on Thursday, resulting in deaths and injuries among guards at the palace, as the group’s confrontation with Saudi Arabia and its allies intensified.
A statement released by the Yemeni cabinet and distributed by Yemeni Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani said that the Maashiq Palace in Aden was hit by missiles and drones, resulting in “martyrdom and injuries among the guards working there.” The statement did not provide specific numbers for how many people were killed or injured, but an earlier statement from Eryani said that “all members of the government are safe and well.”

The BBC reported that two security personnel were killed, while Agence France-Presse reported four deaths and at least 10 injuries.
In a post on X following Thursday’s attack, Yemeni Prime Minister Shaya Zindani condemned the strike, saying it “represents an extension of its [the Houthis’] criminal behavior in targeting civilian facilities and civilians.”
