After meeting Netanyahu, Kushner agrees Hamas disarmament precedes Israel's withdrawal
A four-hour meeting between US advisor Jared Kushner and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed Monday Israel’s request that any withdrawal from Gaza would only take place after the Palestinian militant group Hamas —that Kushner met officials from the day before— would disarm.
Channel 12 reported that they agreed that the first step toward demilitarization would be for Hamas to hand over all its weapons for destruction under the supervision of the international stabilization force.
Israel sets conditions
The report added that Israel would be allowed to continue operations targeting Hamas militants who participated in the Oct. 7 massacre. Netanyahu said that the Israeli military would start withdrawing from the so-called Yellow Line only when the security situation allows. The Yellow Line stretches from north to south along the Gaza side of the Gaza-Israel border, the zone to which the Israeli military withdrew following the October 2025 ceasefire agreement.
