Hull City's Sorba Thomas crashes outside training ground
Premier League winger Sorba Thomas has been involved in a car crash close to Hull City’s training ground, the club has confirmed.
The 27-year-old walked away from the crash, which happened on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham on Friday morning. His vehicle, a grey Land Rover Defender, was pictured on its roof, with broken windows.
Humberside Police said emergency services remained at the scene and asked people to avoid the area.
In a statement, the club said it was “relieved” to hear its player, who joined the Tigers from Championship side Stoke City earlier this month, was unharmed.
The club added: “The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”
One NHS worker who lives on the road said the crash had left him unable to go to work.
“There will be patients who will miss appointments because of this,” he said.
“It’s one road in and one road out. It was an accident waiting to happen.”
