What Canadian Voters Are Looking For in Their Next Prime Minister
Voters in Windsor, Ontario, the heart of the auto industry in Canada, shared their concerns about tariffs, inflation and President Donald Trump.

“I’m really interested in seeing which prime minister will be able to stand up to President Trump because he seems to be very aggressive, and we need to have someone in Parliament who can stand up to him. Trump talks about having Canada — the 51st state or the tariffs — I think those are things that we should be concerned about. And I voted today to make sure that we have a prime minister that can handle those issues.” “What is going on in America, it’s affecting Canada, especially with our economy. We are Canadians, we are strong. And we’re used to be able to say what we want and what we have, but right now it’s like this guy is trying to shovel things down our throats. And we can’t stand for that.” “There’s a lot of stuff is missing, and we need it right now. The market is right now is very high. People cannot afford to buy houses like before. Plus the rent, it’s very expensive. Like people cannot afford even to live in one room. I didn’t see in the previous party that in power that has the ability to make improvements for everybody.” “I grew up liberal and and I’m a die-hard. I’ll always be liberal. I’d like to see things get better as far as the homelessness, housing for everybody, affordable housing for everybody, good jobs for everybody. I think everybody wants that stuff. You just hope that whoever gets in will do their best and try and get this figured out right.”
