Key Facts
When asked by CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil what he would say to Good’s father, whom Dokoupil characterized as a Trump supporter, Trump first reflected positively on Good before praising Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations that have been met with protests in several states.
Trump, who previously alleged Good “violently, willfully and viciously” ran over an ICE officer, said Good’s actions “were pretty tough,” before saying video of her fatal shooting “can be viewed two ways.”
The Trump administration has argued Good weaponized her vehicle to harm ICE agents, while local and state officials have disputed such descriptions, with Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., saying the administration’s view of the incident does “not appear to reflect video evidence and on-the-ground accounts.”
“There are a couple of versions of that tape that are very, very bad,” Trump added.

Key Background
Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, was fatally shot last week in Minneapolis, sparking renewed outrage and numerous protests against the Trump administration’s immigration policies and widespread use of ICE agents. Federal agents are in Minneapolis as part of what the Department of Homeland Security said is its largest-ever immigration operation. Scrutiny around Good’s killing extended into this week, as the Minnesota state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been barred by the FBI from investigating the incident. Separately, six prosecutors from Minnesota’s U.S. attorney’s office resigned Tuesday to protest a Justice Department directive asking them to investigate Good’s widow, Becca Good, for supposed ties to activist groups.
