‘Predator: Badlands’ Stakes Top Spots On Digital Streaming Charts

Predator: Badlandsthe latest film in the Predator movie franchise, isn’t wasting any time plowing through the competition on digital streaming.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, Predator: Killer of Killers), Predator: Badlands was released in theaters on Nov. 7, 2025, before making its debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Jan. 6.
Now, less than a week after the film’s release on digital, Predator: Badlands is the No. 1 most-purchased film on PVOD in the U.S. on Prime Video and is also No. 1 on Fandango at Home’s Top 200 Movies chart. In addition, Predator: Badlands is the No. 1 movie available at the Apple TV Store, according to the highly cited streaming tracker FlixPatrol.
Currently, Predator: Badlands is available for purchase on PVOD for $29.99 and rent for $24.99 for a 48-hour period.
What Is Predator: Badlands About?
According to the film’s official summary, Predator: Badlands “is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Elle Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.”
Predator: Badlands is the seventh film in The franchisewhich began in 1987 with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Predator and continued in 1990 with Danny Glover’s Predator 2 Danny Glover, in 1990. The franchise was rebooted in 2010 with Predators and got the reboot treatment with The Predator in 2018.
After that, writer-director Dan Trachtenberg took the helm of the franchise in 2022 with Prey and released the animated feature Predator: Killer of Killers in June 2025
In addition, two there are two films unofficially belong to the Predator franchise: Alien vs. Predatorwhich was released in 2004, and Alien vs. Predator: Requiemwhich came out in 2007.
Predator: Badlands is interesting in that it incorporates elements of the Alien universe with the inclusion of Thia and her “sister” Tessa (also played by Fanning), who are synthetic beings created by Weyland-Yutani — the villainous corporation behind the explorations in the Alien film and television franchise.
