Throughout his years as a musical superstar, Nick Jonas has released music under three different monikers. He first found fame as one-third of the Jonas Brothersthe pop band that took a lengthy hiatus while the siblings pursued solo ventures, only to reform and find great success once more. Jonas also once led a band called Nick Jonas and the Administration, which only ever delivered one full-length.
He’s reached the Billboard 200 with four collections as a soloist, and that sum increases this week as Sunday Best debuts. Fans of the singer and actor must be excited for new music from the Grammy-nominated artist, but Sunday Best quickly becomes something of a disappointment as it arrives.
Nick Jonas Debuts Sunday Best on the Billboard 200
On this week’s Billboard 200the chart company’s namesake ranking of the most consumed albums and EPs in the U.S., Sunday Best launches at No. 30. That’s a new low for Jonas, and Sunday Best is now one of only two titles to miss the top 10.

His previous set, Spacemanopened and peaked at No. 12 in the spring of 2021. Jonas’s other three solo releases, Last Year Was Complicated, Who I Am – credited to Nick Jonas and the Administration – and his self-titled affair, lifted to Nos. 2, 3, and 6, respectively.
Sunday Best Launches Inside the Sales Chart’s Top 10
Sunday Best might have missed the highest tier on the Billboard 200, but it does manage to become a top 10 bestseller. Jonas’s latest begins its time on the Top Album Sales chart at No. 6 after selling 17,300 copies, according to music industry organization Luminate.
Nick Jonas Matches His Own Low Point on the Sales Chart
Sunday Best ties as Jonas’s lowest-peaking title on the Top Album Sales ranking, which looks only at purchases, either digital or on a physical format. His self-titled release, which opened and peaked in sixth place more than a decade ago in 2014, never climbed above No. 6, despite spending half a year as one of the bestselling releases in the country.

Jonas has ruled just once with Last Year Was Complicatedwhile Spaceman and Who I Am missed the mark, but only just barely, as they climbed to Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
Ateez, J. Cole, Joji and Bad Bunny
Sunday Best enters the Top Album Sales chart at No. 6, and it stands as the fifth-highest-ranking debut this week. Beating Jonas are new projects from K-pop favorites Ateez as well as J. Cole, Joji, and the Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 soundtrack. The only top performer that beats Jonas that isn’t new to the list is Bad Bunny’s I should have taken more photoswhich surges from No. 11 to No. 3 following his Super Bowl Halftime Show headlining performance.
Nick Jonas Earns His First Vinyl Bestseller in America
Sunday Best underperforms on two of the three Billboard rankings where it can be found, but there is good news when it comes to Jonas’s latest chapter. Sunday Best begins its time on the Vinyl Albums tally at No. 8. Jonas collects not only his first top 10, but first placement on the format-focused list.

The same four debuts that start higher than Sunday Best on the Top Album Sales chart also beat Jonas on the Vinyl Albums roster. Bunny misses out on another turn at No. 1 with I should have taken more photosas the Grammy winner for Album of the Year places at No. 2, right behind Cole’s The Fall-Off. Two other holdovers, The Art of Loving by Olivia Dean and Megadeth’s final self-titled release, are comfortable where they sat last time around, placing at Nos. 5 and 7, respectively.
“Gut Punch” Remains the Only Hit from Sunday Best
Jonas promoted Sunday Best with just one single, “Gut Punch,” which was released on New Year’s Day. The track landed at No. 22 on Billboard‘s Digital Song Sales chart, but only managed to hold on for one week. So far, Sunday Best has not made much of a commercial impact in the U.S., which may explain the low starting point.
