Israeli show ‘Fauda’ tops Netflix in Lebanon, hits top 10 across Arab states
The Israeli spy thriller “Fauda” is currently the most-watched show on Netflix in Lebanon and has reached the top 10 in several other Arab states, despite heightened tensions between Israel and the region.
The show’s latest season, which depicts the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack and its aftermath, was released last week and quickly gained popularity across the Arab world, even as Israel’s relations with many countries in the region have remained strained since 2023.
Season 5 of “Fauda,” which follows a group of Arabic-speaking Israeli counterterrorism operatives, was the most-watched show on Netflix in Lebanon during the week of Sept. 7-13 and ranked among the top 10 in Bahrain (fifth), Jordan (fourth), Kuwait (ninth), Oman (seventh), Qatar (fourth) and the United Arab Emirates (fifth).
Of the countries in which “Fauda” reached Netflix’s top 10, Israel only has relations with Jordan, the UAE and Bahrain.
