Sheikh Al-Sudais Condemns Attacks Targeting Sacred Sites in Makkah
Sheikh Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and Masjid an-Nabawi, has condemned the attacks attributed to the Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia and expressed strong concern over any threat to the sacred sites in Makkah.
In a statement, Sheikh Al-Sudais stressed that targeting sacred places is contrary to Islamic teachings and fundamental humanitarian values. He emphasized that Islam prohibits aggression and calls for the protection of human life, property and dignity.
He noted that the sacred sites hold a deeply significant position in the hearts of Muslims worldwide and said that any attempt to threaten their security is a serious matter.
Sheikh Al-Sudais also highlighted the importance of maintaining unity and solidarity during times of uncertainty. He urged the public to support national cohesion, remain responsible in sharing information and avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports.
Citing the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, he stressed that Muslims are instructed to avoid aggression, prevent corruption and remain united, particularly during periods of difficulty and crisis.
He further called on people to rely on official and trusted sources for information and to avoid content that could contribute to confusion, division or instability.
Sheikh Al-Sudais concluded by praying for the continued safety and stability of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, as well as for the protection of the sacred sites and those serving and safeguarding them.
He also prayed for peace, security and stability across the Muslim world and asked Allah to protect communities from harm and hardship.
