CVC Capital Partners has hired TPG executive Todd Sisitsky and plans to name him as co-chief executive of the London-based private equity juggernaut as it prepares for chief Rob Lucas to step down.

Sisitsky will join CVC in early 2028 and is expected to be named co-chief alongside Peter Rutland, CVC’s president and head of financial services investments, according to people briefed on the matter.

The pair will succeed Lucas, who has led CVC since its initial public offering in 2024. The firm has been seeking potential CEOs as part of a long-planned succession, the FT reported last year.

Lucas will remain with CVC as part of the succession plan, the people said.

TPG said in a statement that Sisitsky would step down as president and board member, “effective immediately, and depart the firm”.

TPG and CVC declined to comment further. Sisitsky did not respond to a message seeking comment.

Sisitsky had been at the San Francisco-based firm since 2003 and is one of the most prominent healthcare investors on Wall Street. He sits on several public company boards.

CVC manages over $200bn in assets across equity and credit strategies. Its current share price of just above €14 is at the same level as its IPO price and its market capitalisation is nearly $20bn.
