In just a few days’ time, the Olympic women’s hockey podium will be set.
The gold medal game will once again feature a showdown between the United States and Canada, who face off in their fifth consecutive Olympic final.
In fact, of the eight finals since women’s hockey joined the Olympic program at the Nagano 1998 Games, only one has not featured the U.S. and its neighbor to the north: Sweden clashed with Canada at Turin 2006.
Speaking of Sweden, in the bronze medal game, the Swedes will take on Switzerland, Sochi 2014 bronze medalists.
Both games will take place on Thursday, Feb. 19 at Milan Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena. Whether you’re planning to attend in person or looking to watch from afar, here’s everything you need to know about each matchup.

Switzerland made sure Canada had to work for its spot in the gold medal game, with a narrow 2-1 loss in their semifinal matchup on Monday.
Though Canada outshot Switzerland a whopping 46-8, only one player found the net for the Canadians. Canada captain Marie-Philip Poulin willed her team into the gold medal game, scoring twice in the second period against Switzerland. With those goals, Poulin becomes the first player to score 20 career goals in Olympic women’s hockey.
Switzerland made Canada look beatable. And now it will face Sweden, which, as mentioned previously, is looking for its first Olympic medal since 2006.
Even though the Swedes were blanked 5-0 by the U.S. in the semifinal, they have had a stellar goal differential through this tournament, outscoring their opponents 20-2. Sweden is favored (-1.5) to take bronze.

They say defense wins championships, and no team has been more dominant on the blue line and in the crease during the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics than the U.S.
The Americans have outscored their opposition 31-1 at these Games. They have not let up a goal since their very first match against Czechia.
Not only has the U.S. earned five shutouts (three of them belonging to Aerin Frankel), but they have scored five-plus goals in every game.
Canada may have lost to the rival U.S. 5-0 in the preliminary rounds, but it was playing without Poulin. She could keep this game from being a total blowout, but it’s hard to imagine the U.S. faltering now, with gold in reach.
In addition to Olympic women’s hockey, here’s how to watch and stream every remaining medal event.
