Teofimo Lopez Vs. Shakur Stevenson Full Card Results and Highlights

On Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, Shakur Stevenson completely dominated Teofimo Lopez over 12 rounds to capture the WBO Super Lightweight title. This fight wasn’t close and at this point, it’s hard to argue anyone on the planet is a better boxer than Stevenson.

Lopez won one round on my card–maybe.

Officially, Stevenson won a unanimous decision by the following scores (119-109×3).

With the win, Stevenson is now at 28, a four-division champion. That makes him the fastest to ever achieve that status in the sport. The boxing world took to social media with reactions.

Here’s a look at the results from the rest of the card.

  • Keyshawn Davis def. Jamaine Ortiz via 12th-Round TKO

After some issues and being stripped of his title, Davis rebounded with a strong performance. He earned a late-round stoppage with an impressive TKO over a tough fighter in Ortiz.

Davis’ talent is obvious and it appears he wants to clash with Devin Haney at some point.

  • Bruce Carrington def. Carlos Castro via 9th-Round KO

Shoo-Shoo had the other standout performance on the evening. He won the vacant WBC featherweight title with an impressive TKO win over Castro.

Carrington is a superstar in his own right and the future of the smaller weight classes.

  • Jarrell Miller def. Kingsley Ibeh via split decision (97-93×2, 94-96)

Miller’s win over Ibeh wasn’t overly impressive, but the thing most people will remember from this scrap is seeing Big Baby’s toupee knocked off his head from an uppercut. Yes, this happened in real life.

  • Austin Williams def. Wendy Toussaint via unanimous decision (99-90×2, 98-91)

Williams showed how good he can look when he is locked in. He punished Toussaint, dropping him and coasting to a unanimous-decision win. It was a strong professional performance from Williams who had to adjust to a late-replacment fighter.

Originally, he was supposed to be facing Carlos Adames for the WBA title, but the latter pulled out of the fight with an illness.

  • Kevin Castillo Def. Ziyad Alimof Via Unanimous Decision (78-73, 77-74×2)

The biggest upset of the night came in the opening bout. The highly touted Almaayouf came in as a heavy favorite, but he was outfought and defeated by Castillo.

From the outset, Castillo looked like the fighter who wanted it more and it proved out over the eight-round scrap.

What’s next for Stevenson?

He could face anyone. There’s no one at 140 pounds or in the weight range who would come into the fight as a favorite.

Stevenson wants to fight Conor Benn, but we’ll see if it ever happens.
